Beach Wedding Ideas
In the summer, perhaps there is no other more attractive destination wedding than a beach wedding. It’s a vacation and a major milestone rolled into one! The beach though has its own unique situations when you hold a wedding there, so you there are some things you might need to do and avoid to make that beach wedding work:
1. Skip the big dress and other apparel not suited for the beach. A big gown will be heavy and cumbersome and a nightmare for the bride to lug around. Especially when mixed with heeled shoes, those will sink into the sand. Going barefoot in a boho-style outfit is better for the beach. No veil is also recommended because of the wind and sand flying all over. Even the groom and the boys can go really informal, and you can just have them identified by a boho dress code or colors.
2.Get some privacy. Being on a public beach or in a beach that’s not walled off can present some problems. Anybody can come in and steal stuff, or you get unwanted photobombers. Better get a strip of beach you can have to yourselves and your guests.
3.Add some appropriate colors when needed, but stay natural. It’s a lively summer, so you can add pastel or bright colors when needed. But don’t let that cover up or overcome the usual beach things such as palms, seashells and beach grass.
4.Prepare necessary summer stuff. The relief-goodies basket is a good idea for it. Include sunglasses, summer slippers, fans, towels, bottled water and sunscreen.
5. Tan lines shouldn’t be seen. Since you are likely to dress light on the beach, tan lines will be an eyesore and will break up whatever styles you wear. Save the tan for after the wedding, or cover up those you have.
6.Get some cover. A tent or a shack roof would be all right on the beach. Doing the wedding right out in the hot sun is risky.
7.The bride and girls should try an updo. That’s one way to keep the hair out of all the rest of your body and keep yourself cool.
8.Prepare for wind. Aside from the veil, make sure decors and other fixtures for the wedding are anchored to the ground.
9.Have a pest repellent solution ready. Nasty bugs are always a problem in this country, so you should be ready to keep them away on a special day.
10.Make sure speaker and public address sounds are not weak. The beach isn’t the best place for sound devices, so you’d better check if they work.
11.Brevity. Keep it a brief and meaningful ceremony so you don’t spend too much time under the sun.
