Chef RJ Celestial of Ysabel’s Confectionery Nurse by profession, Baker by passion. As a nurse, he has worked in hospitals and pharmaceutical companies for many years, but he always had an inclination to the arts. He has dabbled in the different forms of art such as crafting and painting. Until one day a friend of his conducted a demo on baking cookies. Balancing his career in the medical industry, he decided to heed this undeniable calling for creating confections and cakes. So, he trained in Pastry Arts at ISCAHM (International School of Culinary Arts and Hotel Management) in Quezon City. In 2015, he launched his humble business from home: Ysabel’s Confectionery – named after the sweetest inspiration of his life – his daughter, Bianca Ysabel. Today, he has a shop and showroom in Marikina that carries every sweet thing he could dream of coffee table cakes, cupcakes, pastries and other desserts. He sees a blank canvass on each customized cake he makes. This is where his passion and creativity truly manifest while at the same time considering the particular taste and requirement of every client.
