Truth is, your wedding is a party. It’s probably the largest, most important party you and your groom have ever hosted, but the entertaining essentials are still the same. For as long as we can remember, good food, good music and good people always almost guarantee a good time.

Offering wedding games to play can keep guests entertained while you and your wedding party are off being photographed, making the meet-and-greet rounds, or changing outfits from ceremony pretty to party perfect. Adding a little action to your reception, whether it be for kids or adults, is never a bad idea. Plus, wedding games are a natural way to encourage interaction and include your guests in your big day.

Still, it helps to have a few tricks up your sleeve. Enter these exciting wedding game ideas.

 

I-SPY WEDDING LIST

Probably the most popular table game in wedding receptions is the “I-Spy” wedding list. It’s similar to a scavenger hunt. This wedding game activity instructs guests to use their personal cameras or disposables provided by the couple to seek, find and snap pics of different moments from their memorable day. STAND UP, SIT DOWN / TRIVIA GAME

All that sitting during the reception can be hard on the guests’ tushie. Get them on their feet with a trivia game that instructs people to stand or sit in response to questions about the bride and groom. Just how well does your guest know you and your partner? Let one lucky guest from each table make a play to take home a prize. Create a list of trivia questions about the bride and groom for guests to answer. The person at each table with the most correct answers wins. Here are some sample questions:

DIY Tip: When creating the cards, try to avoid being too generic with descriptions and think about unique clues to describe your guests.

While waiting for the food, let your guests write their wedding advice for the couple’s journey ahead. Include a place for guests to both write and place their advice cards, and later turn these into a unique guest book.

 

BALLOON POP WALL

A balloon wall pop welcomes guests to seek messages and prizes inside a wall of balloons just waiting to be popped! On a large cork board, attach a decorative collection of balloons.
