As couples start to save up for their future, they’re starting with the careful selection of dates for their wedding. Weekday weddings are much cheaper than weekend dates. The growing need to tone down your guestlist also played an important factor for this consideration. If loved ones cannot attend the weekend wedding, then what’s the use of keeping it? The answer? Simply just transfer it to a weekday one and save scads of money!

2. Garden-themed weddings (plus the natural décor trend!)

Studies have proven that outdoor areas are safer for gatherings. More and more couples are into garden-themed weddings in vast, spacious areas. The natural décor trend is also a chic add-on to the wedding ceremony and reception. Couples can save on styling with garden venues as they are surrounded with natural décor. Incorporate ferns, palms and other luscious greenery to your décor list and you’re good to go!

Buffet-style is out! Sit-down dinner is in! Get your creative juices flowing by serving aesthetically-pleasing plated meals under a canopy of nature or in the presence of candle lights. This is a safer and more sanitized option.

4. The rise of minis

Obviously not everyone can partake in the large cake you’ve ordered due to sanitary reasons. That goes the same with charcuterie or appetizer boards that in the pre-COVID days can be easily exposed to a number of fingers. Why not ask your wedding supplier and patisserie to cook up some personal charcuterie boards and mini cakes?

5. Mismatched seating plans

Seating arrangements may look a lot different in 2021. In the Philippines, a total of 1 meter is needed to practice social distancing. Think a lot of chairs that are carefully panned out to avoid unnecessary interactions. Venues should be big enough to accommodate this social distancing requirements.  Mismatched seating plans may also mean fewer guests and more intimate celebrations.

6. Brunch weddings

Inevitably, it will showcase their own beginnings and memorable moments that they have decided to incorporate in their final walk to forever.
Little tip: Go for dry flower arrangements and pampas! They will complement being outdoors or in open air halls! Plus they are the more affordable options. Yey for savings!
